So with help from the Mahara Demo Website, I’ve set up my first test using ride/robot framework. A simple test, logging into the website and verifying the correct page titled is displayed. The test actually failed the first few times running. I had selected Chrome as a browser without downloading and installing Chrome driver. After adding the driver to the appropriate folder, the test went according to plan.

It has been some time since I’ve started working with Selenium. It’s a great tool, but in someways I feel limited. I unfortunately cannot test a number of entity’s (Database, Api, Web Services, Apps, etc). I am also not fond of the manner in which results are displayed. Setting up my first automation test, I noticed the follow error returned to me “element not visible” (Please see below for exact message). As my test was pretty basic, (1. Navigate to the google.com webpage, 2. Enter a search term (Automated Testing), 3. Click the ‘Google Search’ button) I really could not understand why I was receiving this error. After being stumped for a few minutes, it finally dawned on me, search results are displayed
